Message from the CEO

D-ReadDear Parent,

Over the Easter break, Scalby School will continue to remain open to the children of critical workers and those deemed vulnerable. Food and transport will also continue to be provided. The exception to this will be closure of the school for the bank holidays of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Given that schools closed indefinitely on the 20th March in the traditional sense, it can be easy to lose track of the usual pattern of school and work activity. I therefore feel it is important that we recognise that the Easter period is a holiday for those of school age and should be approached as such as far as we’re able. To this end, we are not expecting our children/young people to complete school work at this time. Please also note that we have also added a section on the web-site called ‘Useful links for Students and Parents/Carers during Closure’ which provide links to a range of supportive information to help children and parents in the unusual circumstances we all current find ourselves in. Further learning activities will be available on the web-site from Monday 20th April.

May I wish you a safe, healthy Easter break.

Yours Faithfully

David Read
